Rotate pages in a PDF online
A PDF scanned sideways, a page fed upside down into the scanner tray, a document received with some pages in landscape while the rest are portrait: rotating pages is a simple-looking operation that keeps coming up whenever you handle digitised paper documents. This tool lets you fix each page's orientation individually or the whole document's in a single operation, entirely in your browser.
How rotation works in a PDF file
Every page in a PDF document carries an orientation attribute (0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°) that tells readers how to display it, independently of the raw content stored in the file. Rotating a page therefore doesn't mean physically flipping the text and images that make it up, but changing this attribute — a very lightweight operation that barely affects the file's size or content quality, unlike what a rotation by image recomposition would do.
Individual or bulk rotation
The tool shows a grid of thumbnails where each page has its own rotation buttons (90° one way, 90° the other), usable independently page by page. For an entire document scanned the wrong way, a group selection lets you apply the same rotation to every page in a single operation rather than handling them one by one. Both approaches can be combined on the same document: group rotation for most pages, then individual adjustment for the exceptions.
Why rotation alone isn't always enough
If your document mixes correctly oriented pages with others that each need a different rotation, the organize tool (reorder/delete/rotate) offers the same rotation feature in an interface that also lets you reorder or remove pages in a single pass — handy if you need to clean up the whole document anyway rather than just fix its orientation.
